Flavored Crust Pizza – Gluten Free Vegan Recipe
Who says healthy food can’t be good to eat? Here’s a recipe that will prove them wrong! Indulge in a flavored-crust pizza that just happens to be vegan and gluten-free. Quinoa is loaded with goodness including a lot of protein so it is very satisfying.
3/4 cup quinoa
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
Food processor or blender
9 inch cake pan
parchment paper cut to fit the bottom of the cake pan
Thoroughly rinse the quinoa.
Place the rinsed quinoa in a bowl and cover with water to at least an inch above the quinoa.
Soak quinoa overnight – at least eight hours.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Drain and rinse the quinoa.
In a food processor add the quinoa, 1/4 cup water, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and baking powder.
Process the mix for about two minutes until it is smooth in consistency.
Line the bottom of an 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
Pour the oil into the pan atop the parchment paper.
Pour the batter into the cake pan atop the oil, smoothing it out evenly.
Bake the crust for 20 minutes.
Top the pizza as desired.
Bake the pizza for another 5-10 minutes until your toppings have cooked through.
